The Integrated Farm Planning (IFP) in Otuke District.
The Integrated Farm Planning (IFP) is an innovative way of transforming small-scale subsistence farm households into more productive and sustainable farms. It is based on a visionary integrated farm plan which is developed and drawn on a map by all family members, as well as a concrete action plan to realize that vision.
The Integrated Farm Planning (IFP) Open Day organized to enable first generation farmers to show case their IFP plans developed, different knowledge and skills gained from Integrated Farm Planning Approach and agroecology practices they have been trained on to motivate and inspire second generation to take up integrated farm planning (IFP) approach.
The activities during the IFP open day involved; presentations of IFP plans developed, songs and dramas on IFP plans, agroecology practices i.e. Bokashi organic fertilizer production and application, natural pesticides, plant tea and liquid manure production and application, kitchen gardening technology, testimonies on stories of change, household visits.
