Creating spaces for the participatory innovators / innovative farmers to showcase their integrated farm plans amongst themselves and share experiences.
In Amolatar district, Facilitation for Peace and Development (FAPAD) with funding support from Broederlijk Delen (BD) is implementing a food security project (2022-2026). The project outcome; Family farmers and youth (m/f) belonging to family farmer households in Amolatar achieve improved food-, nutrition- and income security on resilient and productive farms and actively participate in decision-making processes at household, community and national level is being realized through the promotion of implementation of agroecological principles and practices. To arrive at the desired outcome, FAPAD has embraced a methodology of integrated farm planning (IFP) approach. This approach motivates and empowers farmers to take the lead in their household development agenda. The motivation is realized through encouraging households to sit as a family, reflect on their current household farm situation, visualize the farm situation in the next 5 years and draw an integrated action plan to achieve the vision.
